Overview
Insterprep® is a range of instantly soluble, sterile, granulated media specifically designed to speed up and simplify sample preparation for microbiological analysis.
Insterprep media comes in two forms:
- Insterprep media bags - Instantly soluble, pre-measured, sterile media in a Stomacher® bag. Simply add sterile distilled water and your sample as per your protocol.
- Insterprep sachets - Instantly soluble, sterile media granules, ready to use. Just add to your own Stomacher® bags. Choose the Insterprep sachet that fits your protocol needs.
Three types of media are available:
- Buffered Peptone Water - A pre-enrichment medium for increasing the recovery of injured Salmonella species from foods prior to selective enrichment and isolation. The composition and performance criteria of this medium are as per the applications laid down in ISO 6579-2002. 100 bags or sachets per pack.

Fraser Broth - Recommended for the selective enrichment of Listeria species from food. 50 bags or sachets per pack.
Insterprep media is available in 225 ml bag or sachet formulations for the Stomacher 400 Circulator or in 3375 ml (Peptone Water or Max Recovery Diluent) or 1125 ml (Fraser Broth) sachet formulations for the Stomacher 3500.
